The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators is offering a year’s membership to SCBWI and tuition for one national conference to the winner of this auction!  (Tuition only – does not include travel expenses.)

The SCBWI acts as a network for the exchange of knowledge between writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people. As a unified body, the SCBWI acts as a powerful force to effect important changes within the field of children’s literature, promoting new copyright legislation, equitable treatment of authors and artists and fair contract terms. There are currently more than 22,000 members worldwide, in over 70 regional chapters writing and illustrating in all genres for young readers, making it the largest children’s writing organization in the world.

KidLit Cares: In-Person School Visit with Alex Flinn (South/Central Florida)

Alex Flinn will donate an in-person school visit and five signed books of the bidder’s choice to a school or library in Central or South Florida (Monroe to Pasco County on the west, Miami-Dade to Seminole/Orange County on the East). School visit will include three 50-minute sessions on a single day or one evening session with two daytime sessions the next day. Transportation is included within this geographical area. If schools in North Florida or outside of Florida wish to bid, they may do so provided that they are in the Eastern or Central time zones and pay the author’s transportation and hotel expenses. Author visit subject to scheduling availability, must be scheduled at least one month in advance and take place in 2017 or 2018. Value is approximately $1,500.
