On Saturday from 1:00-2:00, I’ll be part of a panel discussion on Writing for Children and Young Adults at Fletcher Free Library, along with the authors of these amazing books.
Julie Berry (THE AMARANTH ENCHANTMENT)
Linda Urban (A CROOKED KIND OF PERFECT and MOUSE WAS MAD)
Jo Knowles (LESSONS FROM A DEAD GIRL and JUMPING OFF SWINGS)
Tanya Lee Stone (ALMOST ASTRONAUTS, SANDY’S CIRCUS, and more)
We’ll be talking about both the craft and business of writing for kids. What would you like to know? Feel free to share a question in comments, even if you can’t join us on Saturday.(But we really hope we’ll see you there!)
The literary festivities run all weekend. There’s a whole, smashing lineup of events posted here on the festival website.
Oh, this sounds like so much fun! I wish I were there to watch/learn from your discussion, but I’m sending all of you best wishes and (hugs)
I’m wondering if you can speak to the idea of writing/writers in community. Writing is such a solitary profession, and I’m curious to know if your outreach (critique groups, meet-ups, etc.) includes those who specialize in other categories/genres.
Wow – great company you’ll be keeping!
Ugh! I so wish I could make it up for that festival! But I suspect my wife would be upset to find out I’m headed to Burlington on our tenth anniversary weekend!
I would like to know what I was thinking agreeing to a fall book deadline. I totally wish I was going to be in Burlington!
Have fun and blog about it soon …
