KidLit Cares: 90-minute school visit consultation with author Michelle Cusolito

Welcome to KidLit Cares, an online talent auction to benefit the Red Cross relief effort to help communities recover from Hurricane Harvey and related flooding. 90 Minute School Visit Consultation for an author or illustrator. With Michelle’s guidance, you’ll develop a program that engages students and excites teachers/librarians. If you are new to School (author/illustrator) visits, you’ll develop a program from the beginning. Or maybe you have some experience under your belt but you’d like to step up your game. Michelle will help you develop a program that capitalizes on your strengths. If you want to tie your program to standards, she can help you do that, too. If you live within 50 miles of Michelle’s house in Rochester, MA, she’ll meet you in person at a café or library. If not, you’ll do it over Skype or the phone.
Michelle Cusolito’s debut non-fiction picture book, Flying Deep, will be published by Charlesbridge in May 2018. Michelle has helped many authors and illustrators develop their school visit programs through workshops for SCBWI and The Writer’s Loft, and through individual consultations. She moderates a Facebook group, “Create Engaging School Visits” where authors and illustrators ask questions, share advice, and support each other. Michelle taught 4th grade, worked as a curriculum developer, and earned National Board Certification before becoming an author.
